Hello, welcome. Thank you so much for being here!
Today I’m sharing the list of freezer meals I prepared this week that will nourish my body during postpartum healing and recovery.
I’ve also included a free download that includes the meals, links to the recipes, and the entire grocery list for these meals!
While curating these recipes, I focused on (1) bringing warmth into the body, (2) nourishing with whole foods, and (3) collecting fulfilling meals that support recovery.
Why prepare freezer meals?
Having freezer meals on hand will minimize time spent on my feet during recovery. These prepped meals are easy to pass off to a friend or family member to cook so that I can focus on healing.
I’m not pregnant, can these meals still work for me?
Even if you’re not expecting, these meals work great for families on especially busy nights and during cold and flu season when sickness tends to make its way throughout the household.
Do I have to freeze these meals?
No! You can take these six meals as a meal plan and just cook them fresh throughout the week. I focused on compiling a list of meals that freeze well.
Tips for freezer meal prep
Clear your workspace. I prefer to use our dining room table for my freezer meal prep since everything can fit on it easily and items aren’t haphazardly arranged on narrow kitchen counters.
Organize your ingredients before any prepping. Bring out all of your ingredients (meat, spices, veggies) and all the tools you’ll need for the prepping process (knives, cutting board, permanent marker) so that your not spending precious time looking for these products as you go.
Label your ziplock bags before stuffing them. It’s easier to write out notes and cooking directions on an empty bag. If you’re prepping a few meals simultaneously, you’re less likely to mix them up if they’re already labeled.
Do you have little helping hands?
Here are some tasks they can do:
- Peel garlic
- Pour spices
- Hand in chopped veggies
- Hold open bags
